Rosberg, senior executive vice president of the university, informed the University Senate on Friday that university administrators had revised the policies without the knowledge of the senate, according to Columbia Spectator. According to Spectator, Columbia changed its events policy after student chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace protested on October 12.

Among the catalysts are Palestinian and Jewish-led groups that have been active for years in opposing Israeli policies toward the Palestinians and who now demand a cease-fire in Gaza. The groups have roots in a movement known as BDS, which calls for the boycott, divestment and sanction of Israel. That campaign generated heated rhetoric long before Hamas militants attacked Israel on Oct. 7 and Israel launched its counteroffensive. Advocates wrote op-eds for campus newspapers with appeals to protect Palestinian human rights, often accusing Israel of colonialism and racism. Protests have led to disruptions on Capitol Hill, at a major train station in Chicago and New York City’s Grand Central Station.

The cost to Israel's economy of its war with Hamas militants will be unlike anything it has experienced in decades. A conservative nonprofit said it organized the truck featuring the virtual billboards with students’ names and images under a banner that reads: “Harvard’s Leading Antisemites.”Palestinian human rights activists say doxxing is nothing new. They told CNN they’ve feared losing jobs and endured psychological harm for advocating for fair treatment of Palestinians under occupation – or for simply being Palestinian themselves. Doxxing is the release of personal information without a person’s consent, often with malicious intent, according to the International Encyclopedia of Gender, Media, and Communication. Despite the reality of harassment for Palestinian Americans, the student said, the current sense of hysteria on the Harvard campus is unprecedented.

JERUSALEM, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Israel's ThetaRay said on Tuesday it raised $57 million in a private funding round led by global fintech platform Portage. ThetaRay's technology uses artificial intelligence to identify financial cyber threats like money laundering so users can take action against suspicious transactions. "Global payment infrastructure too often fails to accurately differentiate between perfectly legitimate transactions and ones from bad actors dealing with illicit funds," said Peter Reynolds, CEO of ThetaRay. Venture capital funds JVP, the largest investor in ThetaRay, OurCrowd and others also participated in the funding round.
